REM Disc Couplings
No results
Description
The disc pack accommodates angular misalignment from 1/2° to 1-1/2° and is used in all disc couplings.
The discs are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel (AISI-301), which guarantees high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, and resistance to most environmental conditions. Disc couplings use disc packs with 4, 6, or 8 bolts. Although the 8-bolt design can transmit higher torque than the 6- or 4-bolt designs, it does not allow for much angular misalignment. In addition, couplings can be equipped with overload bushings to protect the discs during momentary torsional overloads.
Main features
- Complies with regulations for potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX and A.P.I. 671/610)
- Eliminates the need for lubrication and coupling maintenance
- The coupling can be inspected without dismantling it
- It is possible to inspect the discs with a strobe light while the machine is running (Note: it is not recommended that couplings operate without coupling guards).
- Misalignment of equipment easily assessable
- Torsionally rigid with no backlash
- No wearing parts
- Resistance to harsh environments
- Extended service life if dimensions and alignment are correct
- High power density (higher torque for each given outer diameter)
- Unified discs ensure the repeatability necessary to meet the balance and connection requirements specified by the API-610 standard
- ATEX Certified for SU, SX, DI, SXC, SXCS, SXCST, DIR, DILR, DIRA, and DIRLA
