In sensitive sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, food machinery, or cleanroom environments, the presence of particles, oil residues, or contaminants in fasteners can cause serious failures: from contamination of the final product to production interruptions, reduced performance, or safety issues.

To prevent these risks, NBK offers a specialised cleanroom washing and packing service that guarantees contaminant-free fasteners suitable for critical applications.

Cleanroom Washing

Cleaning is carried out in a controlled environment with ISO Class 7 cleanliness level (equivalent to Class 10000). The quantity of airborne particles and microorganisms is monitored.

Two cleaning methods are offered:

  • Ultrasonic (USC): ideal for corrosion-resistant materials, such as stainless steel.

  • Isopropyl alcohol (IPA): recommended for materials prone to oxidation, such as steel.

Cleanroom Packing

Once cleaned, the parts are packed inside a room with ISO Class 4 cleanliness level (Class 10), ensuring final handling is contamination-free.

Measured Results

  • Particles: ultrasonic cleaning reduces particles ≥0.3 μm from 210 million (untreated) to 220,000.

  • Residual oil: 0.3 mg/ft² after ultrasonic cleaning versus 1.5 mg/ft² with IPA.

These data were obtained from tests with SUS303 stainless steel fasteners. Results may vary depending on the size or shape of the part.
