The design of these flexible couplings consists of three parts. Two flanges with internal teeth engage a flexible elastomeric sleeve with external teeth. Each flange is attached to the respective shaft of the driving and driven device, and the torque is transmitted by the flanges through the sleeve. Misalignments and torsional loads are absorbed by the shear deflection in the sleeve. The shear characteristics of S-Flex couplings are ideal for absorbing impact loads.

Lovejoy's S-Flex couplings offer various combinations of flanges and sleeves that can be customized for each specific application.

We offer 13 sizes with torque capacities ranging from 6.78 Nm to 8189 Nm. S-Flex flanges are available in five models made of die-cast zinc or cast iron. The flanges are made of EPDM rubber, neoprene, or Hytrel®, which can be adapted to a wide variety of application requirements.
