New NBK screws: solutions for more efficient and reliable assembly

NBK expands its range of special screws with three models designed to make assembly easier, protect threaded joints and meet the needs of demanding industrial applications.

In a bolted joint, small design details can make a big difference. Preventing the loss of a washer, guiding the screw into the thread or venting trapped gas are improvements that help optimize both assembly and equipment operation.

NBK's SVFSS-AG, SNSQS-LW and SNSS-IG models offer specific solutions to these needs.

SVFSS-AG: vented and silver-plated for vacuum applications

The SVFSS-AG is a stainless steel hex socket screw with a flange and a vent hole. This channel releases gas trapped in threaded holes, making evacuation easier in vacuum equipment.

Its silver plating improves lubrication and helps prevent galling, while also providing electrical conductivity. The flange enlarges the bearing surface, spreads the pressure on the material and removes the need for a separate washer, which also makes automated screwing easier.

It is suited to applications such as vacuum chambers, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and electron microscopes.

SNSQS-LW: larger bearing surface and captive washers

The SNSQS-LW comes with a large-diameter flat washer and a spring washer, both captive: they stay held on the screw so they cannot fall off or get lost during handling and assembly.

The larger washer spreads the pressure over a wider area, helping to reduce material sinking and joint loosening.

Made of stainless steel, this model is especially suited to slotted holes and soft materials such as aluminum or resin, where the bearing surface needs particular attention.

SNSS-IG: guide point for aligned screwing

The SNSS-IG has a guide point that helps the screw enter the internal thread in line before tightening begins.

This design is useful in tight spaces, high-up areas or spots with poor visibility, where alignment is harder to keep. It helps prevent the galling and breakage caused by screwing at an angle, for more consistent assembly.
